The note after a few days of talking to your AI. Tinted lines are what it added, the way Amber Notes shows an AI's changes, with Undo and the earlier version kept in the note's history.

What the prompt does

Your AI creates a note called “Home maintenance” in your Home folder, or finds the one you already have, and learns how to keep it. The jobs that keep a home working, how often they're due, and when you last did them.

Paste it once into a chat in ChatGPT or Claude with Amber Notes turned on, or into Claude Code.

Then just talk to it

  • Add: clean the dishwasher filter every month, last done 1 September.
  • What's due in October?
  • The boiler was serviced today.

First, look for a note called "Home maintenance" in my Amber Notes with search_notes. If there isn't one, create it with create_note in the folder "Home", using exactly the markdown at the end of this message, the <!-- pane-table --> line included (it gives the table's columns their types). Then: Use my Amber Notes note "Home maintenance". When I tell you about a recurring job, add a row with log_table_row: Task, Every, Last done and Next due as yyyy-mm-dd. At the start of a month, when I ask, read the table with read_table and add what's due this month under "This month" as a checklist with append_to_note. When I say I've done one, update its Last done and Next due with edit_note and tick it with set_checklist_item. Keep model numbers and warranty dates I mention under "Appliances".

The note you start with

This is what the prompt creates in Amber Notes: an ordinary note with the headings and the table ready. Your AI fills it in from there, and you can still edit every line yourself.
