Mood and energy log
A short check-in each evening. After a few weeks, the patterns show what lifts you and what drains you.
| Date | Mood | Energy | Sleep (hours) | Caffeine | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-28 | 4 | 3 | 6 | 2 cups | Long day, great lunch with Maja |
| 2026-09-29 | 2 | 2 | 5.5 | 3+ cups | Deadline, skipped the walk |
| 2026-09-30 | 4 | 4 | 8 | 1 cup | Slept in, finished the report |
Patterns
- Energy follows sleep: under 6 hours, energy was 2 or lower.
- Three cups of coffee came on the lowest day, not the busiest one.
The note after a few days of talking to your AI. Tinted lines are what it added, the way Amber Notes shows an AI's changes, with Undo and the earlier version kept in the note's history.
What the prompt does
Your AI creates a note called “Mood and energy log” in your Habits folder, or finds the one you already have, and learns how to keep it. A short check-in each evening. After a few weeks, the patterns show what lifts you and what drains you.
Paste it once into a chat in ChatGPT or Claude with Amber Notes turned on, or into Claude Code.
Then just talk to it
- Today was long but good. Slept 6 hours, two coffees, great lunch with Maja.
- What do my best days have in common?
- Does caffeine change my energy the next day?
Show the full prompt
First, look for a note called "Mood and energy log" in my Amber Notes with search_notes. If there isn't one, create it with create_note in the folder "Habits", using exactly the markdown at the end of this message, the <!-- pane-table --> line included (it gives the table's columns their types).
Then: Use my Amber Notes note "Mood and energy log". Each evening I'll tell you about my day in my own words. Log one row with log_table_row: Mood and Energy from 1 (low) to 5 (great), Sleep in hours, Caffeine as one of the options, and one short line in What happened. If you're unsure about a score, ask me instead of guessing. When I ask about patterns, read the table with read_table and add what you notice under "Patterns" with append_to_note. Don't give medical advice.

The note you start with
This is what the prompt creates in Amber Notes: an ordinary note with the headings and the table ready. Your AI fills it in from there, and you can still edit every line yourself.
