30 September
- On-call was rough: two pages at night. She wants a quieter rotation.
- Wants to lead the November launch.
- Seemed tired but positive.
The note after a few days of talking to your AI. Tinted lines are what it added, the way Amber Notes shows an AI's changes, with Undo and the earlier version kept in the note's history.
What the prompt does
Your AI creates a note called “1:1 notes” in your Work folder, or finds the one you already have, and learns how to keep it. One running note for your 1:1s with one person. Add topics during the week so nothing waits until you've forgotten it.
Paste it once into a chat in ChatGPT or Claude with Amber Notes turned on, or into Claude Code.
Then just talk to it
- For my next 1:1: ask how the on-call week went.
- We just had our 1:1. She wants to lead the next launch and asked for a mentor.
- What did I promise last time?
Show the full prompt
First, look for a note called "1:1 notes" in my Amber Notes with search_notes. If there isn't one, create it with create_note in the folder "Work", using exactly the markdown at the end of this message, the <!-- pane-table --> line included (it gives the table's columns their types).
Then: Use my Amber Notes note "1:1 notes". During the week, when I mention something to bring up, add it under "Next time" as a bullet with append_to_note. After the 1:1, I'll tell you how it went. Add a section at the start of "Past 1:1s" with append_to_note (at_start): a "###" heading with the date, what we talked about, and how they seemed. Add anything either of us promised under "Follow-ups" as a checklist line, then remove the topics we covered from "Next time" with edit_note.
```markdown 1:1 notes One running note for your 1:1s with one person. Add topics during the week so nothing waits until you've forgotten it. ## Next time ## Follow-ups ## Past 1:1s ```
The note you start with
This is what the prompt creates in Amber Notes: an ordinary note with the headings ready. Your AI fills it in from there, and you can still edit every line yourself.
